Introducing our UIC Korean Studies Faculty
Underwood International College has assembled an outstanding group of faculty who teach courses related to Korean Studies. Each week, Summer@UIC participants will study Korean language classes in the morning and take Discoveries in Korean Studies in the afternoon, which will include lectures on a wide range of different topics such as Korean history, literature, society, and culture. Students will learn about the dynamism of Korean society, watch films from Korea’s past, learn about the tragedies of the Korean War, and discover the factors that have led to Korea’s successful postwar economic development.
The lectures will be followed by discussions and activities where students can share their ideas and incorporate what they learned about Korea into group projects and presentations. The lecturers for the summer program will be team-taught by UIC’s own Korean studies faculty who will share with high school students their insights from their decades of collective experience teaching about Korea. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn about Korea from some of the best experts in the field.
