From K-pop to hallyu, from urban skyscrapers to traditional palaces, this is an exciting time to be in Korea. Underwood International College, a highly selective liberal arts college with all instruction in English, offers an intimate, elite setting with the larger context of Yonsei University, Korea’s most internationalized university. And for the first time, UIC is opening its doors to high school students - to have students experience a full three weeks of Korean language / studies / activities, plus fun and educational tours! Korean language immersion classes in the mornings, customized to your individual level, will be operated by the highly regarded Korean Language Institute.
Korean history, literature, and culture courses will be taught in English in the afternoon. Late-afternoon enrichment activities will have you choose between various hands-on traditional Korean arts and sports, while weekly “Wednesdays at Sinchon” outings will take you exploring on our main campus in Seoul. Evening programs will include college preparatory advising programs as well as opportunities to interact with Residential Advisors who will be drawn from UIC college students. Our weekly “Saturday Tours” will feature excursions to the highlights of Korea in Seoul and its neighboring areas.
There it is - Korean language, Korean studies, enrichment activities in Korean culture, plus field trips and a dash of college prep. Check out this brochure, browse our website, and I hope you’ll choose to spend part of your summer with us. You won’t regret it. Mark that date - July 15, 2013 - and I look forward to meeting you on the opening day of our summer program!
